Giving Back the Cozy Way: How Dorothy’s Paradise Is Supporting the Community
At Dorothy’s Paradise, everything we create is rooted in love, legacy, and intentional care—and that doesn’t stop at our products. As a self-funded, woman-owned business, we’ve built this brand from the ground up with the belief that softness should be shared, not just sold. That’s why we’re proud to introduce a growing collection of community impact initiatives designed to bring comfort and connection beyond our boxes.
Here’s how we’re turning cozy into action:
1. Sponsoring Classrooms in Underserved Atlanta Communities
This fall, we’re launching a classroom sponsorship program focused on elementary and middle schools in underserved neighborhoods throughout Atlanta. We’re reaching out directly to teachers to understand their students’ most pressing needs—from school supplies to emotional support resources—and working to meet those needs with care packages, donations, and handmade comfort items.
Whether it's a class set of journals, calming corner tools, or simply a message of encouragement, we’re committed to letting students and teachers alike know they’re seen, supported, and worthy of softness.
2. Handmade Goods for Shelters and Families in Need
As colder weather approaches, we’ll be using our craft to spread warmth—literally. We’re preparing to donate handmade beanies, scarves, and gloves to local shelters and organizations serving unhoused or housing-insecure individuals and families.
Every stitch in these items carries intention and love. We believe everyone deserves comfort, no matter their circumstances—and we’re honored to give that in the way we know best: handmade.
3. Care Kits for the Unhoused
We’re also assembling essential care kits packed with ready-to-use hygiene items like wet wipes, disposable bath towels, soap, toothpaste, socks, and nourishing snacks. Each kit will also include handwritten notes and optional gift cards for food or transportation.
These kits will be distributed in-person throughout Atlanta, and we’ll be inviting our community to participate—through donations of goods, time, or funding.
Why It Matters
Dorothy’s Paradise was created in memory of the women who raised me—women who always opened their doors, gave without question, and made people feel safe. Giving back isn’t a bonus to our brand.
