At Dorothy’s Paradise, each made-to-order item is crafted with intention, care, and your unique vision in mind. Whether you're requesting a customized version of a current product or dreaming up something entirely new, here’s what to expect:

📞 Step 1: The Initial Call or Email Consultation

Once you submit a made-to-order request, we’ll schedule a brief call or connect via email to go over the details. During this conversation, we’ll:

  • Break down design concepts, materials, and customization options

  • Review pricing based on size, complexity, and time

  • Set timeline estimates for completion and delivery

  • Discuss whether the item is within the scope of what I can confidently and beautifully make

Transparency is key. If the request is outside of my creative abilities or materials, I’ll kindly decline rather than overpromise. Your trust means more than the sale.

🧵 Step 2: Confirmation + Payment

If your request is approved, you'll receive one of the following:

  • A full payment invoice, or

  • A split invoice requiring a non-refundable initial deposit to begin production

Work will only begin once payment (or deposit) is received. The remaining balance, if applicable, will be due before shipment or pickup.

🪡 Step 3: The Creative Process

Once payment is confirmed, I’ll begin crafting your item by hand. You'll receive:

  • Progress updates (for larger or more custom projects)

  • An estimated completion timeline

  • A note of any delays due to materials or production if applicable

Every stitch, knot, and detail is created with love and care, just for you.

📬 Step 4: Delivery or Pickup

Once your item is complete, it will be shipped out or made available for pickup (depending on your location and preference). You'll receive:

  • A shipment notification + tracking

  • A digital care card to help you preserve your piece

  • A heartfelt thank-you note from Dorothy’s Paradise
